Yes! Producing OSS is a perquisite for every would-be developer in an open source project.

While much of Fogel's advice may seem obvious to experienced open source developers, it can make all the difference to someone new who doesn't have any idea that there's even anything to learn.

I was lucky enough to receive a free copy of the book from Google when I first began getting my feet wet in open source. No other book or article taught me as much as the book did. If I had to choose, I'd take Producing OSS over any "real" coding book without a second thought.
