We are planning to whip up a FAD that is along similar lines. Primarily aimed at Desktop Testing, Packaging and treading new ground along the OLPC lines. In fact, with the OLPC folks aiming at a beginner’s camp at Pune during March, it should make for interesting synergies.
The one thing that struck me was that the FAD energy-levels are completely different from FUDCons. There are logical reasons of similarity, but the ebb and flow is much more dynamic.
I am looking forward to report at SCALE in order to come up with some of the ‘best’ stuff we can re-use.

However, the flyers, handouts, and other material needs are quite similar. The questions, answers, and interchange between people is quite similar. Should be interesting to compare our experiences once we are done. At a minimum, our activity part is going to have fewer people, but they’ll all be focused contributors with goals in front of them. The expo over the following weekend should be full of high spontaneity, by comparison.
