You pinpointed what was bugging me about the conversation but hadn’t seen myself. Presenting it as a choice between us/them is indeed divisive. I like a future of excellence, focus and Free Software ideals. They are all important. People, and the foundations, can individually choose what their priorities are. Supporting all in various degrees isn’t in any way detrimental and in fact they strengthen each other.
