I started off being translation reviewer for GNOME (bn and then bn_IN locales) thereon have been a dilettante bug reporter and intermittent blogger. Handouts to be distributed with pointers to material: To be decided later. But other than slides we might consider other materials to give away. GNOME PROJECT DAY at foss.in Pre-requisites to participate: Interest in getting involved and contributing to GNOME. The project day is proposed to achieve the following: o getting together the largest possible number of GNOME contributors from India o demonstration of what they are working on etc Thus, familiarity with the GNOME roadmap, i18n and l10n, documentation, bug triaging would be good to have. Audience: application developers, extension developers, open-source evangelists & enthusiasts, localizers, security experts Theme of the day: All things GNOME, India and code push Proposed schedule bits: + Opening remarks by a GNOME contributor to set the tone for the day + GSoC time (GSoC participants get to talk about their work) + Contribute to GNOME - l10n - i18n - documentation - bug triaging - applications that need love + GNOME and a11y + Tutorial on glib/gtk/gstreamer/gobject + Gnome Cool Talk: All new cool things in gnome: Clutter, Online desktop, Tracker. + Mobile Gnome: Hildon Desktop and Ubuntu Mobile Initiative. + The challenges and opportunities of properly wirting multi threaded GTK based GNOME Programs. (All do try to do it, but few get it right) + "Where GNOME is at, and where it will go if you help us take it there"
