My role is a technical facilitator between Red Hat Engineering and
Partners. These include OEM|IHV as well as ISV Partners. 

My responsibilities include:

+ addressing the technical issues from Partners at all organizational
levels
+ utilizing cross-organizational resources to resolve roadblocks for
Partners
+ aligning and driving the Red Hat product roadmap with Partner
technology roadmaps
+ soliciting and prioritizing feature and enhancement requests to
support Partner hardware and software portfolios across Red Hat
supported architectures
+ providing guidance and oversight to Partner Certification initiatives

My responsibilities included:

initiatives
+ providing status reports to executive management and cross functional
teams impacted by the initiatives

Assistant Manager-Operations (March 2005 – February 2006)

My role involved process structuring of the Professional Services and
Consulting Practice

My responsibilities included:

+ creating and analyzing metrics for the Professional Services and
Consulting Practice organizational unit
+ aligning local Consulting Practices with worldwide operations
+ restructuring the Services Delivery workflow towards consistent
operational performance

Pre Sales Consultant/Sales Engineer (June 2004 – February 2005)

My role was to provide Red Hat technology insights to assist Direct
Sales teams to close deals. I was primarily involved with consulting
assignments in the Federal/Government vertical with a very limited
exposure to SME segment.

My responsibilities included:

+ analyzing customer problems towards consulting and designing sets of
Red Hat products and solutions
+ providing Proof of Concept demonstrations of Red Hat technologies to
existing and potential customers
+ architectural inputs towards deployment of Red Hat products and
solutions in heterogenous operating systems environment
+ providing follow-up support in disseminating technical information of
specific applications or products

Additionally, I was tasked with:

+ creating technical orientation content for new hires into the Sales
Engineering organizational unit
+ delivering technology update content to internal teams

Quick Summary

I have been actively participating in Free and Open Source Software for
close to 10 years now in various roles of a Systems Engineer, Developer,
Consultant, Team Lead, Sales Engineer and Project Manager. I have both
participated and lead distributed as well as virtual teams tasked with
delivery of products. I have experience in managing projects of
sufficient complexity and modularity. Such projects include both product
innovations as well as sustaining engineering of existing services and
products.

I have expertise in speaking about Free and Open Source Software, Open
Standards and Public Commons.

I have been a Marketing Contact for GNOME as well as OpenOffice.org in

Lead for the Bengali (India) locale for OpenOffice.org, Firefox and
Thunderbird Native Language efforts. I am a Fedora Ambassador and a
member of the Fedora Marketing Team and part of the Fedora Project.
