I don’t like to blog about political news. They get updated far too frequently than technology news and makes keeping pace a major deal. This morning during break 2 things however snatched my attention. NDTV India referred to Iraq campaign as invasion – which was not used once but every time the military activity in Iraq was being described. And of course, these news bits on the eve of the Iraqi elections.
Timing as they say is the essence 🙂
Long time ago when we were doing the first cut of the Ankur Bangla LiveCD, one of the demonstrations what a distinguished gentleman from the academic world put across a nice question – would it be possible for this project to allow me to pick and choose components so that I can create my custom Bangla CD ? . At that particular point of time, given the other technical issues that plagued the Indic computing (and especially Bangla rendering scene), this was a crazy wishlist. Having a web based front-end to a “Toast your Own CD” somewhat like this would be nice idea if someone wanted a CD/distribution customised for an one time purpose eg an XFCE based CD that would allow one to setup print services and servers. Good work. Now, the fun part would lie in ensuring that such a distribution is continuously updated and the repository is up to date. Nice idea to have really – can see some of the LUG chaps trying it out.
