There is something wrong about this applet

Something is not right with the GNOME Clock Applet

For a while I was using F9 in en_US locale and added a few locations to the applet. Then I switched over to bn_IN and landed up with the applet as above.

  • In bn_IN I cannot use input in en_US to “Find” locations. Which is somewhat accepted after Runa convinced me about the need to use bn_IN input to search for locations which have their names translated. I’d have preferred that I could search using en_US names, but that is a minor usage annoyance.
  • What is worrisome is that after I switch locales, why does the location drop down end up being a mix of en_US and bn_IN ? Should it not fall back to all bn_IN mapping the already added en_US locations to their bn_IN translations ?

Is this a bug ? If so, what do I file it for ?

Moving on … the gdm seems to be messed up for Ubuntu (original photo link) and possibly for Fedora as well.
